a sharh ke shukla paksh ki ekadshi ko vishnu lakshmi ke sath vishram ke liye sheshnag ki shaiya men arurh hote hain, lekin unke ashirvad se hariyali aur sukh shanti bani rahti hai. asharh mas ke shukla paksh ki ekadshi ko devshyni ekadshi kaha jata hai. vishnu margashirsh shukla paksh ki ekadshi ko ve fir dharti par pratyagaman karte hain. devshyni ekadshi ko sabhi shraddhalujan bare utsah se vrat upvas rakhte hain. chaturmas men krishi karya par hi adhik jor diya jata hai. bhagvan vishnu prithvi par jal varsha karke kisanon aur sadgrihasthane ko ann, fal, ful, dalahan, tilahan adi prachur matra men upalabdh karakar samriddhi ka ashirvad dete hain. tridevon men vishnu ko srishti ka palanakatrta mana jata hai. kshir dugdh aur satvagun ka pratik hai. manushya ke jivan men dudh ka mahatva hai. yagya ke liye bhi ghi, dahi, ityadi dudh se hi banta hai. yah ek pratik hai ki jagat ke palanakatrta dudh ke mahasagar men rahte hain.

grahan karen: deh- shuddhi ya sundrta ke liye parimit prabhav ke pachangatya ka, vansh vriddhi ke liye niyamit dudh ka kurukshetradi ke saman fal prapti ke liye patra men bhojan karne ke bajay ‘patra’ ka tatha sarvapapakshayapurvak safal punya fal prapt hone ke liye ekbhukt, naktavrat, alp bhojan ya sarvatha upvas karne ka vrat grahan karen.

tab raja ne hath jorakar kaha- ‘mahatman ! sabhi prakar se dharm ka palan karta hua bhi main apne rajya men durbhiksh ka drishya dekh raha hun. akhir kis karan se aisa ho raha hai, kripya iska samadhan karen. aisa sunakar maharshi angira ne kaha - ‘‘he rajan ! sab yugon se uttam yah satyug hai. ismen chote se pap ka bhi bara bhayankar dand milta hai. ismen dharm apne charon charnon men vyapt rahta hai. brahman ke atirikt kisi anya jati ko tap karne ka adhikar nahin hai jabki apke rajya men ek shudra tapasya kar raha hai. yahi karan hai ki apke rajya men varsha nahin ho rahi hai. jab tak vah kal ko prapt nahin hoga, tab tak yah durbhiksh shant nahin hoga. durbhiksh ki shanti use marne se hi sanbhav hai. kintu raja ka hriday ek nirpradh shudra tapasvi ka ant karne ko taiyar nahin hua. unhonne kaha- ‘‘he dev ! main us nirpradh ko mar dun, yah bat mera man svikar nahin kar raha hai. kripya karke ap koi aur upay batayen.’’ maharshi angira ne bataya - ‘‘asharh mah ke shukla paksh ki ekadshi ka vrat karen. is vrat ke prabhav se avashya hi varsha hogi. raja apne rajya ki rajdhani laut aye aur charon varnane sahit padma ekadshi ka vidhipurvak vrat kiya. vrat ke prabhav se unke rajya men musladhar varsha hui aur pura desh dhan-dhanya se paripurn ho gaya.
