jyotish shastra ke adhyayan se rog ki prakriti, uske prabhav kshetra, uske nidan, uske prakat hone ki avdhi tatha karnon ka vishleshan bhali bhanti kiya ja sakta hai. yadyapi ajakal chikitsa vigyan ne paryapt unnati kar li hai tatha kai adhunik aur unnat prakar ke chikitsiya upkrnon dvara rog ki pahchan sukshmata se ho bhi jati hai, tathapi kai bar dekhne men ata hai ki in unnat upkrnon dvara rog ki pahchan ka satik nishkarsh nahin nikal pata hai. vahin is par ane vala vyay kleshkarak bhi hota hai. aise men ek hi upay rah jata hai aur vah hai jyotishiya chikitsa. kisi vidvan daivagya ke vishleshan evan uchit paramarsh se n keval sthiti spasht hoti hai, apitu kai bar atyant sahjta se (grah dan tatha jap adi se) rog dur ho jata hai.
is drishti se ek kushal jyotishi chikitsavid tatha rogi donon ke lie margadarshak ban sakta hai. dvadash rashiyon, navagrahon, sattais nakshatron adi ke vishleshan se rog ke sanbandh men jankari prapt ki ja sakti hai. kal purush ke vibhinn angon ko niyantrit aur nirdeshit karne vali rashiyon, grahon adi ki sthitiyon ke adhar par ham kisi nishkarsh par pahunchte hain. janm chakra men sthit pratyek rashi ya grah sharir ke kisi n kisi ang ka pratinidhitva karta hai. jis grah ka prabhav dushit hota hai, usse sanbandhit ang par rog ka prabhav rah sakta hai. is sanbandh men chandra ke anshadi ke adhar par nikali gai vinshottari dasha (ya kisi anya dasha) ka adhyayan mahatvapurn hota hai.
jyotish vigyan men kisi bhi vishay ke parigyan ke lie janm chakra ke tin binduon lagn, surya tatha chandra ka alg-alag aur paraspar ek dusre se antah sanbandhon ka vishleshan avashyak hota hai. yah adhyayan ‘jyotish aur rog’ ke sandarbh men aur bhi upyogi hota hai. lagn jahan bahya sharir ka, bahya vyaktitva ka darpan hota hai, vahin surya atmik sharir, ichcha shakti, tej evan oj ka pratik hota hai.
chandra ka sanbandh hamare mansik vyaktitva, bhavnaon tatha sanvednaon se hota hai. is tarah lagn mastishk ka, chandra man, udar aur indriyon ka tatha surya atmasvarup evan hriday ka pratinidhitva karta hai. samanya rup se ham rashiyon aur grahon ke antah sanbandh ko is tarah samajh sakte hain ki rashiyan jaise alg-alag akritiyon vale patra hon aur grah alg-alag prakriti ke padarth, to jis prakriti ke padarth ko jaisi akriti ke patra men dala jaega, vah tadnurup acharan karega aur vaisa hi fal bhi dega. grah, rog tatha tatsanbandhi ang: navagrahon men surya, chandra adi jis rashi men baithte hain, uske anurup rog vichar hota hai tatha us rashi se unki shatruta aur mitrata ko bhi dekha jata hai.
upar varnit sarni ‘ka’ men grahon se sanbandhit angon aur unke rogon ka vivaran prastut hai. rashiyon, bhavon aur grahon ke adhar par sharir ke angon aur vyadhiyon ki jankari ke pashchat gatishil dashaon ke svamiyon ki sablta ya durbalata ko adhyayan ka adhar banaya jata hai. naisargik shubh grah brihaspati, shukra, budh tatha chandra kramagat rup men papi grah shani, mangal, rahu v surya ketu se pirit hone par apni dashavdhi men rog dete hain. nimnalikhit sarni ‘kha’ men sthit alag alag rashiyon se sanbandhit angon aur unke rogon ka vivaran prastut hai. dvadash rashiyon men, kuch bhavon aur agni tatva ka to kuch vayu tatva ka pratinidhitva karte hain.

jyotish men chathe sthan se rin, rog, shatru, mukdma adi ka vichar kiya jata hai. aise men is bhav men sthit rashi tatha shubh evan papi grahon ki sthiti aur shashthesh ki kundli men sthiti ke adhar par rog evan rog ki avdhi ka akalan kiya jata hai.
brihtprashar horashastra ke anusar:
- yadi papi shashthesh (shani, rahu, mangal, kshin chandra ya pap yukt budh) bhav 1, 6 ya 8 men sthit ho, to shashth bhav men ho to sthit rashi men ghoshit ang men vran (ghav) samjhna chahie.
- yadi vran karak (shashthesh) surya ho, to sir men, chandra ho, to munh ya gale men aur mangal v budh hon, to pet men ghav hota hai. yadi vran karak brihaspati ho, to nak par, shukra ho, to ankh par, shani ho to pairon par, rahu, ketu ho, to kokh (pet) men ghav hota hai.
- yadi lagnesh (mangal v budh ki rashiyon) 1-8, 3-6 men ho tatha kahin bhi sthit hokar budh se drisht ho, to mukh rog hota hai. jatak bhushan ke anusar
- yadi shashtham sthan men shani ho, to vyakti ke pairon men rog hota hai. is rog yog ka varnan jatkalankar evan bhav prakash granthon men bhi kiya gaya hai.
- shashthesh nirbal ho aur papi grahon se drisht ho ya pap kartari yog ke madhya ho, to shatru se pira milti hai. yah sthiti tab hi banti hai jab shashthesh trik bhavon (6, 8, 12) men n ho. yadi shashthesh trik bhav men ho, vah chahe nich ho ya ast ho, lekin lagnesh bali ho, to shatru ka shaman hota hai. prani ke tin dosh kaf, pitt v vayu uski kundli men sthit grahon se prabhavit hote hain. yadi prabhav shubh ho, to ye dosh santulit hote hain aur vah svasth rahta hai kintu iske viprit yadi prabhav ashubh ho, to vah asvasth ho jata hai. kis bhav men kis grah ki sthiti se kis dosh ka rog ho sakta hai iska ek vivaran yahan prastut hai.
vat rog ke yog:
- lagn men brihaspati evan saptam men shani ho, to vayu rog hota hai.
- panchven, satven ya nauven bhav men mangal ho aur lagn men shani ho, to bhi vyakti vat rogi hota hai.
- vyay bhav (barhven) men shani evan kshin chandra krishn paksh ki ekadshi se shukla paksh ki panchmi tak sath hon, to jatak vat rogi hota hai.
- shani nich rashi mesh men shashthesh se yut ho, to jatak ko vat rog hota hai.
- shani vat rog ka karak hai. shani ka prabhav lagn ya chandra par ho aur lagn nirbal ho, to vat rog ki sanbhavna rahti hai. shani ka jal grah chandra ya agni grah mangal se yog ho, to bhi vat rog ho sakta hai. pitt rog ke yog
