prashna: brahmanon ko adhik mahattva kyon? tulsidas ji ne ek jagah kaha hai- ‘pujiya vipra gyan-gun hina’ aise hi manusmriti men kaha ki patit hote huye bhi dvij shreshth hai. kya yah brahmanavad ka pakshapat nahin?
uttara: brahman ka mahattva uske gun v karm ki shreshthata ke karan hai. sharir men sir (mastishka) ka mahattva anya angon se adhik hai. sir kat jane par vyakti ek kshan bhi jivit nahin rah sakta jabki anya ang ke kat jane par vyakti lula-langra, apang hokar bhi jivit rah sakta hai. yadi brahman varg nasht ho jaye to samast rashtra ki adhyatmik, mansik v naitik shakti nasht ho jayegi. jis prakar sarvangakshin vyakti mastishk ke vikrit ho jane par kisi kam ka nahin rah jata hai usi prakar buddhi, shishtachar evan sanskar se hin manushya pashu, rakshas v pishach kahlata hai. jaise sabhi lakriyan dahak shakti se yukt, ek saman dikhne par bhi chandan ka adhik mahatva uski sugandh v gun ke karan hai, jaise anya dhatu ek saman bhar v rang ki hon to bhi usmen kanchan (suvarna) ka adhik mahattva hai.
