jyotish shastra ka manav jivan men atyant mahatvapurn sthan hai. ishvar ne pratyek manav ki ayu ki rachna uske purva janm ke karmon ke anusar ki hai, jise koi bhi nahin badal sakta visheshrup se manushya ke jivan ki nimnankit tin ghatnaon ko koi nahin badal sakta: 1. janm 2. vivah 3. mrityu.
jyotish vidya inhin tinon par vishesh rup se prakash dalti hai, yadyapi in tinon ke atirikt jivan se sanbandhit anya mahatvapurn biduon se bhi sanbandhit hai. karan hai ki yah ek brahm vidya hai. jyotish shastra ko ved ke netra ke rup men svikar kiya gaya hai. yah bhartiya rishi-maharshiyon ke tyag, tapasya evan buddhi ki den hai.
iska ganit-bhag vishva-manav mastishk ki vaigyanik prapti ka mul hai tatha falit bhag uska fal-ful. jyotish apne vividh bhedon ke madhyam se samaj ki seva karta aya hai aur karta rahega. yah satya hai ki jis kisi vastu, vyakti ya gyan ka vishesh prabhav samaj par parta hai, uska virodh bhi usi star par hota hai.
jyotish ne apne gyan ke madhyam se samaj ko jitna adhik prabhavit kiya hai, utne hi prakhar rup se iski alochna bhi ki gai. alochnaon se nikhar kar isne apne ganit-gyan se vishva ko udghoshit kiya tatha akash men rahne vale grahon, nakshatron binbon tatha rashmiyon ke prabhavon ka adhyayan kiya.
in prabhavon se samaj men hone vale parivartan ko dekha aur samjha. grahon, rashiyon, nakshatron ke prani par parne vale prabhavon ko janne ke lie manishiyon ne brahmand rupi bhachakra men vichrne vale grahon ka kundli ke bhachakra ke rup men sakshatkar kar uske madhyam se jan-jivan par parne vale prabhavon ka vishleshan kiya, jise ‘falit jyotish’ ki sangya di gai jo apne ap men satya aur vigyan-sammat hai.
kintu prashn yah hai ki akash men bhraman karne vale grahon ka prabhav srishti jar chetan par bhi parta hai. brahmand men apni rashmiyon ko bikherne vale grah sansarik jivon tatha vastuon par apna amit prabhav dalte hain, jiska murt rup sagar me uthne vale jvar-bhata ka mul karan ‘chandrama’ ke prabhav ko mante hain.
taral padarth par chandrama ka prabhav vishesh rup se parta hai. faileriya bimari ka ek tivra veg bhi ekadshi se purnima tak adhik hota hai. jyotish chandrama ko rudhir ka karak manta hai. chanradma jal men apna prabhav dalakar jis tarah usmen uthl-puthal machata hai, usi tarah se sharir rakt pravah men bhi apna prabhav pradan kar manav ko rogi bana deta hai. vanaspatiyon par yadi dhyan diya jay to chandroday hote hi kumdini pushpit hoti h tatha kamal sankunchit.
suryoday hone par kamal prasfutit tatha kumdinin sankunchit. isse spasht hota hai ki surya tatha chandrama ka in donon par spasht prabhav parta hai. ‘udmijjagya sarlinons’ ne apni pushpavatika men fulon ki aisi pankti baitha li thi, jo bari-bari se khilakar ghari ka karya karti thi.
pashu-pakshiyon par bhi grahon ka spasht prabhav drishti gochar hota hai. udahrnarth billi ki ankh ki putli, chandrama ki kalanusar ghatti-barhti rahti hai. kutton ki kam vasna ashvin-kartik men jagrit hoti hai. anek pashu-pakshi par grahon, taron ka prabhav adrishya rup se parta hai, jo unke kriya kalapon se udbhashit ho jata hai. pakshiyon ki vani se ghatnaon ki purva suchna ho jati hai. adivasi log bahut kuch isi par nirbhar rahte hain.
jyotishshastra ke acharyon ne apni anveshnatmak buddhi se grahon ke parne vale prabhavon ko purn rup se parkha tatha uske vishay men samaj ko uchit marga-darshan pradan kiya. aj is bat ki avashyakta hai ki ham is shastra ke gyan ko sahi saral aur subodh banakar manv-samaj ke samaksh prastut karen. shastra varnit niyamanusar yadi faladesh kiya jae, jo pratyaksh rup se ghatit ho, to is shastra ko vigyan kahne men kisi ko koi apatti nahin honi chahie.
faladesh ki prakriya: falit jyotish ke vistar evan vidhaon ko dekhne se gyat hota hai ki maharshiyon ne apni-apni sujh-bujh se anveshan kiya. parinamtah unke bhed-upbhed hote chale gaye. ataev ismen jatak, tantrik, sanhita, keral, samudrik, ank, muhurt, ramal, shakun, svar ityadi upbhedon men bhi anek siddhanton ka prachalan hua. matra jatak ko hi liya jaye, to usmen bhi anek siddhant prachlit hue jinmen keshav aur parashar ko murdhanya mana gaya hai.
grahon, rashiyon, nakshatron ki maulik prakriti, gunatatva-dosh karak tatva ityadi men lagabhag sabhi ka mataikya hai, parantu falakathan ki vidhi, drishti, yog aur dashadi ke vichar men sabmen matantar hai. jyotishshastra men maharshi parashar ne grahon ke shubha-shubhatva ke nirnay ka vaigyanik drishti se faladesh karne ki vidhiyon, rajyog, sudarshan paddhati, drishti tatha vishleshan kiya hai, utna ‘anyatra’ nahin hai.
unhonne grahon ke adhikadhik shubhashubhatva ka alag se nirnay kiya hai. ‘rajyog’ ke bare men bhi unka vichar svatantra tatha suljha hua hai. yadyapi varahmihir adi acharyon ne bhi is par apna prabhav kam nahin dala hai, fir bhi parashar ke vichar ki tulna men inka vichar gaun hai. atah samikshakon ne ‘falau parashri smriti’ tak kah diya hai.
parashar ke anusar grahon ke fal do prakar ke hote hain.

adridh karmaj fal gochar grah kriti hai, jo shantyadi anushthan se parivartanashil hota hai. parantu drirh karmaj fal grah ki dasha, bhav adi se utpann hota hai, jo amit hota hai.
atah adhunik jyotishiyon ke dvara abhivyakt gochar fal sthayitva se rahit hota hai. jab tak gochar ka grah prabal yog karak rahta hai, tab tak shubh fal ki prapti hoti hai. jab pratikul ho jata hai, tab us fal ka bhi vinash ho jataa hai. han, yah kahna uchit pratit nahin hota ki nakshatra dasha ka fal nahin milta hai.
acharya varahmihir ne likha hai - sva dashayu falapradah sarve. arthat grah apne dashakal men apna fal dete hain. grah bhukti ke sanbandh men paryapt matantar hai. sab ke matanusar vibhinn dashaen hain. kis dasha men grah fal dete hain, uske sanbandh men parashar tis se bhi adhik dashaon men apni vinshoÿari dasha ko pramukh bataya hai.
kuch jyotishiyon ka mat hai ki dashadi ke madhyam se grahkrit falon ka jo samay nirdharit kiya jata hai, sahi nahin hota hai. iske anek karan hain. samay ka nirdharan panchang ke ganit ke adhar par kiya jata hai, jo adhikatar sthul hote hain.
atah unke dvara hai athva nahin. dasha anukul ho, gochar pratikul ho, to atishubh gochar milan kar hi faladesh kiya jaye. ant men samast jyotish faladesh vidhi dekhne se spasht hota hai ki jyotishiyon ke samaksh sabse bara prashn grah janit shubha'shubh fal ka samay nirdharan karna hai. yadyapi jyortividon ke is sanbandh men anek nirnay hain, fir bhi is sanbandh men aur adhik thos nirnay lene ki avashyakta hai.
