bilva patra tatha bilva vriksh ka aur bhi mahatva hai. nav ratra men saptami ke din bilva patra se devi ko abhimantrit karna chahie. ravan ke vadh tatha ram ki sahayta ke lie brahma ne bilva vriksh men devi ka avahan kiya tha. bilva vriksh bhagvti ka pratik mana jata hai.
vijya dashmi ki sham ko shami vriksh ke pujan ka vidhan hai. shastra ka vachan hai ki ”shami pap ki shamak hai.“ arjun ko mahabharat men astra-shastra shami ne dharan karaye the. ram ko priya bat shami ne sunayi thi. yatra ko nirvighn banane vali shami hai, atah pujya hai. yatra ke samay yatri ke hath men shami ki patti dene ki purani pratha is desh men hai. ganesh pujan men ganesh ji ko durva (dub) ke sath shami bhi charhate hain. kush bhi puja ke kam ata hai. vidhan hai ki bhadrapad mah ke mahine ki amavas ki kali ratri men kush ukharna chahie. shastra ka vachan hai ki darbh taje hone ke karan shraddh ke yogya hote hain.
chaitra mas, shukla paksh, ashtami ko punarvasu nakshatra men jo log ashok vriksh ki 8 kali ko (uske ark ko) pite hain, unko koi shok nahin hota. avashya hi is ashok kali ka koi ayurvedik mahatva hoga, jisse rog dosh nasht hota hoga.

dauna (damnk) ki pattiyan mithi sugandh deti hain. chaitra mas men apne isht devta ko daune ki patti charhayi jati hai. daune ki mahak se bal-virya bhi barhta hai. isi lie yah rishi, gandharva adi ko mohit karne vala tatha kamdev ki patni rati ke mukh se nikle hue bhap ki sugandhi se yukt kaha jata hai. kahte hain ki ismen kamdev ka vas hai:

shigandharvadevadi-vimohak namo'stu te..
am ke vriksh tatha am ke ful, jise manjri kahte hain, ke pujan ki anek vidhiyan hai. vasant panchmi ke din iska pujan hota hai.
chaitra krishn pratipda dhuraddi ke din manjri pan ka vidhan hai. yadi makan men koi dosh ho, ya admi ki tisri shadi ho, ya kanya ko vidhva hone ka dosh (bhay) ho, to madar (arka) ke sath vivah karne ka vidhan hai.
astu kis samay, kis ritu men, kis nakshatra men, kaun si jar, kaun sa kand, paudha, vriksh lagaven, ya khoden, iska bara bhari shastra hai, vigyan hai, jo kapol kalpit nahin hai.
