madgal puran men kaha gaya hai ki vighnavinashan ganesh ke anek avtar hain. unka varnan sau varshon men bhi sanbhav nahin hai. unmen kuch mukhya hain. un mukhya avtaron men bhi brahmadharak ath mukhya avtar hain. un ath avtaron ki atyant sankshipt katha is prakar hai-
vakratund kathor tap kiya. uske tapashcharan se santusht hokar bhagvan shankar ne apni sahadharmini parvati aur ganon ke sath use darshan dekar use var pradan kiya- ‘tumhen kisi se bhay nahin rahega.’ fir kya tha, var-prapt matsarasur ne apni vishal vahini ke sath prithvi ke nareshon par akraman kar prithvi aur patal ko apne adhikar men lekar devlok par charhai kar di. varun, kuber aur yam adi devta parajit ho gaye. fir usne amravti ko gher liya. surendra bhi parakrami asur ke sammukh tik nahin sake. matsarasur svarg ka adhipti hua.
asuron se trast brahma aur vishnu adi devta kailas pahunche. unhonne bhagvan shankar se daityon ke upadrav ka vrittant sunaya. bhagvan shankar ne asur ki ninda ki. yah samachar jab matsar ko prapt hua to vah atyant kupit hokar kailas par ja charha. tripurari ne matsarasur se yuddh kiya, kintu us trailokyavijyi daitya ne bhavanipti ko bhi pash men bandh liya. vah kailas ka svami banakar vahin rahne laga.
matsarasur kailas aur vaikunth ke shasan ka bhar apne putron ko dekar svayan vaibhv-sanpann matsaravas men rahne laga. us nishthur asur ka shasan atyant krur tha. aniti aur atyachar ka tandav hone laga. duahkhi devta matsarasur ke vinash ka upay sochne ke liye ekatra hue. koi marg n dekhakar ve atyant chintit ho rahe the. usi samay vahan bhagvan datta trey a pahunche.
unhonne devtaon ko vakratund ke ekakshari mantra (gan) ka updesh dekar unhen anushthan karne ke liye prerit kiya. samast devtaon ke sath bhagvan pashupti vakratund ke dhyan ke sath ekakshari mantra ka jap karne lage. unki aradhna se santusht hokar sadyah faldata vakratund prakat hue. unhonne kaha - ‘aplog nishnichat ho jaen. main matsarasur ka garva nasht kar dunga.’
vakratund ke smaranamatra se ganon ki asankhya sashastra sena ekatra ho gayi. ve matsarasur ki rajdhani pahunche. shatru dvar par a gaye- yah samachar pakar amarsh se bhare hue asur yuddh ke liye nikal pare. kintu jab unhonne asankhya ganon ki vishal sena ke sath mahakay vakratund ko dekha to ve atyant bhaybhit hokar kanpne lage. ‘parakrami shatru se yuddh uchit nahin.’ lautakar asuron ne matsarasur se kaha. is par trailokyavijyi asur atyant kupit hua.
vah svayan akramnkari shatru ko mita dene ke liye samr-bhumi men upasthit hua. uske ate hi atyant bhayanak yuddh chir gaya. panch dinon tak vah yuddh chalta raha, kintu kisi paksh ki vijay nahin ho saki. matsarasur ke do putra the, sundarapriya aur vishayapriya. un donon ne samr-bhumi men parvati-ballabh ko muchrchit kiya hi tha ki vakratund ke do ganon ne unhen mar dala. matsar chatpta utha.
putra-vadh se vyakul matsarasur ne vakratund ka atyant tiraskar kiya. ‘dusht asur ! yadi tujhe pran priya hai to meri sharan a ja, anyatha nishchay hi mara jaega.’ vakratund ne kaha. putra-vadh se ahat bhayakrant matsarasur bhayanakatam vakratund ko dekhakar vinypurvak unki stuti karne laga.
uski prarthana se santusht hokar dayamay vakratund ne use apni bhakti pradan kar di. pralay ke anantar srishti-nirman men anek vyavdhan utpann hone par lok-pitamhne shadakshari mantra (‘vakratun day hum’) ka jap karte hue ganesh ko santusht karne ke liye kathor tap karna praranbh kiya. unke tapashcharan se prasann hokar vakratund prakat hue aur vidhata ko abhisht var prapt hua. tadanantar ve srishtikarya men samarth ho gaye. ekdant maharshi chyavan ne mad ki srishti ki.
madne maharshike charnon men pranam kiya aur unki anumti se vah patal men shukracharya ke pas pahuncha. apna parichay dete hue usne kaha- ‘‘prabho ! main apke bhai maharshi chyavan ka putra hun; is prakar apka bhi putra hua. mera nam ‘mad’ hai. ap kripapurvak mujhe apna shishya bana len. main brahmand ka mahan rajya chahta hun. ap meri ichcha puri kar den.
shukracharya ne santusht hokar mad ko shishya banana svikar kar liya. aur use ekakshari vidhan se ‘hrin’ shaktimantra de diya. aranya men tap karne chala gaya. nirahar tapashcharan sahasron varsh vyatit hone par uska asthimatra-avshisht sharir valmikavrit ho gaya. uske charon or vriksh ug gae; lataen fail gai. asur ke sahasra varshon tak kathor tap se santusht sinhvahini bhagvti prakat hui.
adishakti ne use savdhan kiya to asur jagajjanani ke charnon men gir para. uski stuti se prasann hokar mata ne use ichchanusar var pradan kiya-‘tum nirog rahoge aur tumhen brahmand ka nishkantak achal rajya prapt hoga. parmeshvari antardhan ho gayin. mad prasann man se ghar lauta. usne apne sundar nagar ko aur bhi bhavya evan sukhad banvaya.
tadnantar usne prasadasur ki kanya salsa se vivah kiya. atyant shakti-sanpann madasur ne pahle sanpurn dharti par apna samrajya sthapit kiya. fir usne svarg par charhai ki. indradik dev parajit ho gaye. madasur svarg ka shasak hua. us asur ne shulpani trinetra ko bhi parajit kar diya. trailokya uske adhin ho gaya. sarvatra asuron ka kruratam shasan chalne laga. sarvatra hahakar mach gaya. chintit devagan sanatkumar ke samip pahunche.
unhonne apni vyatha-katha sunate hue asur -vinash evan dharm sthapna ka upay pucha. sanatkumar ne kaha- ‘devagan ! ap shraddha-bhaktipurvak ekadant ki upasna karen. ve santusht hokar avtirn honge aur nishchay hi aplogon ka manorath purn hoga.’ sanatkumar ne unhen ekakshari mantra ka updesh kar ekadant dhyan is prakar bataya-

abhyan dadhtan chaiv prasannavadanambujam..

‘ganeshji ke ek dant aur char bhujaen hain. unka mukh hathi ke saman hai. ve lanbodar hain. unke sath siddhi aur buddhi bhi hain. ve mushakapar arurh hain. unki nabhi men sheshnag hain. ve apne hathon men pash, parshu, sundar kamal aur abhay mudra dharan karte hain.
unka mukharvind prasannata se khila hua hai. ve bhakton ke lie sada vardayak aur abhakton ke vinashak hain (main unka dhyan karta hun).’ maharshi ke updeshanusar devagan ekdant ko santusht karne ke lie unki upasna karne lage. unhen tap karte hue sau varsh bit gae, tab mushkvahan ekdant ne devtaon se kaha- varan vrinut.’ devtaon ne nivedan kiya- ‘prabho ! madasur ke shasan men devagan sthanabhrasht aur munigan karmabhrasht ho gaye hain.
ap hamara vighn nashtakar hamen apni bhakti pradan karen. ‘tathastu.’ ekdant ne kah diya. udhar devarshi ne madasur ke samip jakar suchna di- ‘brahmanon ne kathor tap ke dvara ekadant ko prasann kar liya. ekadant ne prakat hokar unki ichchapurti ka vardan de diya hai. ab ve tumhara pran-haran karna hi chahte hain.’ mad atyant kupit hua. vah apni vishal sena ke sath ekdant se yuddh karne chala.
marg men ekdant prakat ho gaye. ‘yah mushkarudh bhayanak nar-nag kaun hai?’ bhayakrant asur kolahal karne lage. daitya dar gaye the. madasur ne apne dut se kaha- ‘tum jakar pucho, vah vikat nar-nag kaun hai?’ dut ne ekdant ke samip jakar unke charnon men pranam kar pucha- main trailokyadhipti madasur ka dut hun.
mere svami apki adbhut murti dekhakar atyant vismit ho gae hain ve janna chahte hain ki ap kaun hain, kahan se a rahe hain aur apka kya karya hai? ap unka sanshay nivaran karen.’ ekdant ne hanste hue kaha- ‘main svanandavasi hun aur abhi svanand se hi yahan madasur ka vadh kar devtaon ko sukh pradan karne ke lie aya hun.
tum apne svami se kah do ki vah yadi jivit rahna chahta hai to devtadikon ka dvesh chorakar meri sharan men a jay, anyatha main uska vadh avashya karunga.’ dutne jab ekdant ka sandesh madasur ko diya to use nardji ki bat smaran ho ayi. usne ekdant ke karkmlon men amit tejasvi parshu aur pash dekha. itne par bhi mahakrur asur mad yuddh ke liye prastut ho gaya. ‘ah ! madasur ne apne dhanush ki pratyancha par van rakha hi tha ki tivra parshu uske vaksh men pravisht ho gaya. asur prithvi par gira aur muchchit ho gaya. kuch hi der bad sachet hone par usne parshu uthakar dekhna chaha, par vah divya astra uske hath men chutakar ekadant ke kar-kamlon men laut gaya.’
ashcharyachkit madasur ne kuch der vichar kiya. usne samajh liya-‘ye sarvatma, sarvasamarth parmatma hain.’ bas, vah apna asuri- bhav chor daurakar prabhu ke charnon men let gaya aur hath jorakar stuti karte hue usne kaha- ‘prabho ! aj mujhe apka durlabh darshan prapt ho gaya, yah mera param saubhagya hai. main apki sharan hun. ap mujhe kshama kar apni drirh bhakti pradan karen. ‘jahan daivi sampada se purn meri puja- aradhna ho, vahan tum mat jana.’ kahte hue prasann ekadant ne usse kaha-‘iske viprit asuri-bhav ke karmon ka fal tum bhakshan karte rahna.’
mahodar prachin kal men tarak namak atyant darun asur hua. vah brahma ke vardan se trailokya ka svami ho gaya. uske shasan kal men devta aur muni atyant pirit the. ve vanon men rahakar atyant kasht sahte apna jivan vyatit karte the. devtaon aur rishiyon ne bahut samay tak shiv aur shiva ka dhyan kiya. bhagvan ashutosh samadhisth the.
is karan devta aur muniyon ne mata parvati ki sharan grahan ki. mata parvati atyant rupvti yuvti bhilni ke rup men shiv ke ashram men gayin. se sugandhit pushpon ka chayan karti hui moh utpann kar rahi thin. ve sugandhit pushpon ka chayan karti hui moh utpann kar rahi thin. trinayan ki samadhi tuti. unhonne balat akrisht karne vali lavanyavti ko dhyanpurvak dekha hi tha ki bhilni adrishya ho gayi. tab shiv ke dva ara atyant ugra mahan purush moh utpann hua.
vah atyant sundar aur mani tha. dhyan se parvati ki lila samajh bhagvan shankar ne kupit hokar kamdev ke sharir ko dagdh kar diya. shapmukt hone ke lie kamdev ne mahodar ki upasna ki. mahodar prakat ho gaye. prasann mahodar bole- ‘main shiv ke shap ko to anyatha nahin kar sakta, kintu tumhare rahne ke liye tumhen anya deh de raha hun.’ aisa kahakar unhonne kamdev ko amrta ka vardan de diya.
bad men kamdev shrikrishn ke putra pradyumn ke rup men prakat hue. gajanan ek bar dhanadhipti kuber kailas pahunche. vahan unhonne shiva-shiv ka darshan kiya. amit saundaryashalini param sati shiva kuber ko apni or lubdha-drishti se niharte dekh atyant kruddh ho gayin. jagjnni ki kop-drishti se bhaybhit kuber se lobhasur utpann hua. yah atyant parakrami aur pratapi tha. lobhashur ne daityaguru shukracharya ke pas jakar unke charnon men pranam kiya.
acharya ne use panchakshari mantra (namah shivay) ki diksha dekar tap karne ke liye prerna di. is prakar dirdhakal tak akhand tap kiya uska sharir valmik se avrit ho gaya. divya sahasra varshatak tap karne ke anantar karunamay shiv uske samaksh prakat hue. aur use abhisht var pradan karte hue sabse nirbhay kar diya. sarvatha nirbhay lobhasur ne pramukh daityon ko ekatra kar aur prithvi par apna ekachchatra rajya sthapit kar liya.
shrivishnu bhi uske sammukh tik nahin sakeah parajit ho gaye. ‘vishnu tatha anya devtaon ke rakshak mahadev hain- yah sochakar lobhasur ne apna dut shiv ke pas bheja. dutne unse kaha- ‘ap param parakrami lobhasur se yuddh kijie ya kailas unke lie rikt kar dijie.’ bhagvan shankar ko use apna diya hua var smaran ho aya aur ve kailas tyagakar sudur aranya men chale gae.
lobhasur ke harsh ki sima n rahi. uske shasan men samast dharma-karm samapt ho gaye; papon ka nagn tandav hone laga evan brahman aur rishi-muni yatna sahne lage. devagan adi dev gajmukh ki aradhna karne lage. isse santusht hokar mushkarurh gajanan prakat hue. unhonne devtaon ko nishnichat karte hue kaha- ‘main lobhasur ko parajit kar dunga.’ tadnantar gajanan ne shiv ko lobhasur ke samip bheja. vahan shiv ne asur se spasht shabdon men kaha- tum gajmukh ki sharan grahan kar shantipurn jivan vyatit karo, anyatha yuddh ke lie udyat ho jao.’ iske anantar shivne lobhasur ko gajmukh-mahatmya sunaya.
uske guru shukracharya ne bhi use gajanan ki sharan lena kalyanakar batlaya. lobhasur ne ganesh-tatva ko samajh liya. fir to vah paramaprabhu ke charnon ki vandna karne laga lanbodar shiv ke krodh se unke shukra ka skhalan ho gaya aur usi se krodhasur ki utpaÿai hui. shukracharya ne ukt krodhasur ka sanskar kar use pratyek riti se yogya banaya fir unhonne shanbar ki atyant lavanyavti putri riti ke sath uska vivah kara diya.
atyant prasann hokar acharya-charnon men pranam kar hath jore asur ne nivedan kiya.- ‘main apki agya prapt kar brahmand-vijay karna chahta hun, ataev ap mujhe yash pradan karne vala mantra dene ki kripa kijiye.’ daityon ke hitchintak shukracharya ne use savidhi surya-mantra (ghrini surya aditya om) pradan kiya. krodhasur ne guru ke charnon men pranam kiya aur vah aranya men chala gaya.
vahan vah ek pair par khara hokar ukt surya-mantra ka jap karne laga. uski drishti upar uthi hui thi. asur ke divya sahasra varshaen tak tap karne ke anantar bhagvan surya dev prasann hokar prakat hue aur bole- ‘varan vrinu.’ krodhasur atyant prasann hua. usne timirarike charnon men pranam kar vinypurvak var ki yachna ki- ki meri mrityu n ho. main sanpurn brahmand par vijay prapt kar lun. ap mujhe charachar ka rajya pradan kijie, arogya dijie. main advitiya siddh houn.’
krodhasur ke bhayotpadak vachan sun atyant vismit suryadev ne use var de diya- ‘tumhara abhisht safal hoga.’ krodhasur atyant prasann hokar lauta. kuch dinon bad usne apni brahmand- vijay ki yatra praranbh ki. usne sahaj hi prithvi par adhikar kar liya. fir vah amravti par daura. uske dar se devagan bhage. isse svarg asur ke adhin ho gaya. isi prakar vaikunth aur kailas par bhi us mahadaitya ka rajya sthapit hua.
anttah krodhasur ne apna dut bhagvan surya dev ke pas bheja. surya dev var pradan kar chuke the, ataev dukhi hriday se unhonne surya lok tyag diya. vahan krodhasur ka shasan hone laga. atyant dukhi devtaon aur rishiyon ne ganesh ki aradhna ki. isse santusht hokar lanbodar prakat hue. unhonne kaha- ‘devtao aur rishiyon! main krodhasur ka ahankar churnakar use nasht kar dunga. ap log nishchint ho jaen.’
akashvani se yah sanvad krodhasur ne bhi suna. vah bhayakrant ho muchrchit ho gaya. chetna lautne par uske vir sainikon ne use samjhaya- ‘sanpunr a brahmand hamare adhin hai. ap agya pradan karen, ham kisi bhi shatru ka nash karne men samarth aur pratikshan prastut hain.’ apne vir sainikon ke vachan sun krodhasur atyant prasann hua. vah apni ajey sena ke sath samrangan men pahanucha. vahan usne mushkarurh gajmukh, trinayan, lambodar ko dekha. unki nabhi men shesh lipte hue the.
lambodar ke is vichitra svarup ko dekhakar krodhasur atyant kupit hua. bhishan sangram hone laga. lambodar ke sath devagan bhi asuron ka sarvanash karne lage. usne lambodar ko sammukh dekhakar kaha- ‘murkh lambodr! tu brahmand-vijyi shur ke sammukh yuddh karna chahta hai. teri buddhi mari gai hai. tu shighra hi meri sharan a ja, anyatha main tera lamba udar ek hi shar se for dunga.
bhagvan lambodar ne uÿar diya- ‘are daitya! tu vyarth kyon bakta hai? main tujh-jaise khal ka vadh karne ke lie hi yahan aya hun. tune surya ke var ke prabhav se bara adharm kiya. par tere atyant pap se ve sare shubh karm nishfal ho gae. ab main tera aur tere adharmon ka nash kar dharm ki sthapna karunga. ataev yadi tum jivit rahna chahte ho to meri sharan men a jao.
shukracharya mujhe jante hain. tum to samjhane par bhi mere tatva ko nahin samajh sakte. n to main daityon ke vadh ka abhilashi hun aur n devtaon ka hi vadh mujhe priya hai. apne-apne dharm men lage hue sab logon ka main palan karta hun, ismen sanshay nahin hai.’’ krodhasur ki shankaon ka samadhan hote hi vah prabhu ke charnon men gir para. vikat kshirabdhishayi vishnu jab jalandhr-patni vrinda ke samip pahunche, us samay unke shukra se atyant tejvi kamasur ki utpaÿia hui.
usne daityaguru shukracharya ke yahan jakar unke charnon men shraddhapurvak pranam kiya. daitya- shubhakankshi mantra ki diksha de di. usne van men devadhidev mahadev ko santusht karne ke lie ann, jal aur faladi ka sarvatha parityag kar divya sahasra sarvon tak kathoratam tap kiya. us tap se prasann ashutosh ne prakat hokar usse var mangne ke lie kaha.
kamasur ne kaha ap mujhe apne charnon ki bhakti aur brahmand ka rajya pradan kijie men balvan, nirbhay evan mrityujyi houn.’ karunamay shiv ne kaha- ‘yadyapi tumne atyant durlabh aur dev-dukhad var ki yachna ki hai, tathapi tumhare kathor tap se santusht hokar main tumhari kamna puri karta hun.’ kamasur ne apne guru shukracharya ke samip jakar unke charnon men pranam kiya aur fir unhen shiv-darshan evan unke dvara var-prapti ka vriÿaant kar sunaya.
usi samay shukracharya ne use daityaraj ke pad par pratishthit kar diya. samast daityon ne uske adhin rahna svikar kiya. var prapt kamasur ne kuch hi samay men trailokya par adhikar prapt kar liya. usne samast dharma-karmon ko nasht kar diya. vipÿia se tran pane ke lie samast devta ekatra hue. usi samay vahan yogiraj mudgal rishi padhare. devtaon ne adhrya-padya adi se unki adrpurvak puja ki. aur pucha- hamen kamasur ke vinash ka marg bataie.
munivar mudgal ne kaha- ‘ap log siddh kshetra mayuresh men jakar tap karen. vahan ap logon ke tap se santusht hokar svayan bhagvan ganesh prakat honge aur ap ke sankton ka nivaran karenge. shivadi devta pavanatam mayuresh-kshetra men pahunche. vahan unhonne shraddha evan vidhipurvak ganesh ki puja ki. bhaktavatsal mayur-vahan ganesh ne prakat hokar kaha- ‘main kamasur ka vadh kar samast devtaon aur muniyon ko nirapad karunga.’ mayuresh ne kaha.
akashvani se yah ghoshna sunakar kamasur muchrchit ho gaya. kuch der bad vichar-vimarsh kar uske vir asuron ne devtaon aur muniyon par akraman kar diya. devta aur muni param prabhu mayuresh ko pukarne lage. pash-ankushdhari mayur-vahan mahavikat gajanan prakat hue. unhonne bhayanak garjana ki. ‘main kamasur ko nasht karunga.’ mayur-vahan ne kaha aur dev-sainikon ke sath rahakar yuddharth prastut ho gae. apne prabalatam sainikon ke sath kamasur bhi pahuncha.
kruddh hokar kamasur bola. usne prabhu se kaha- ‘murkha! mainne trailokya ko vash men kar diya hai. tere vir devagan muchrchit pare hain. yadi tu pran-raksha chahta hai to yahan se bhag ja.’ hanste hue mayur-vahan vikat ne uÿar diya- ‘asur! tune shiv-var ke prabhav se bara adharm kiya hai. main srishti sthiti-sanharakarta evan janma-mrityurhit hun. tu mujhe kis prakar mar sakta hai? apne guru shukracharya ke updesh ka smaran karke mere svarup ko samajh.
yadi tu jivit rahna chahta hai to meri sharan a ja. anyatha tera sanpurn garva kharva hokar rahega aur tu nishchay hi mara jaega.’ mayur-vahan ki vani sunte hi kamasur atyant kupit hua. usne apni bhayanak gada mayur-vahan par fenki, kintu vah gada prabhuvar viktka sparsh n kar prithvi par gir pari, yah dekh daityaraj kamasur sahsa muchrchit hokar gir para. kuch der bad sachet hone par usne apne ang-pratyang men bhayanak pira aur akalpit ashakti ka anubhav kiya.
kamasur ne atyant ashcharya se apne man men socha- ‘is adbhut dev ne shastra ke bina hi meri aisi durdasha kar di aur jab shastra ka sparsh karega, tab kya hoga? yuddh men to yah nishchay hi mujhe mar dalega. yah soch usne prabhu vikat se unke sanbandh men anek prashn kie aur uska samadhan hote hi vah dayamay mayur-vahan vikat ki sharan men gaya. mushakadhvarj ne use apni bhakti pradan ki.
vighnaraj ek bar ki bat hai. vivahoprant himgirinandini apni sakhiyon ke sath bat karti hui hans parin. unse hasya se atyant manohar parvat-tulya ek mahan purush utpann hua. use dekhakar atyant chakit shivapriya ne pucha- ‘tum kaun ho, kahan se ae ho aur kya chahte ho?’ ukt purush ne atyant vinypurvak uÿar diya- ‘mata! main abhi-abhi apke hasya se utpann hua apka putra hun. ap agya pradan karen, main uska avashya palan karunga.’
mata parvati bolin- ‘main apne pran anath se man kie baithi thi, us man ki sthiti men tumne janm liya hai. ataev manprayan tumhara nam mam (mamta) hoga. tum jakar ganesh ka smaran karo. unke smaran se tumhen sab kuch prapt ho jaega.’ mata parvati ne mamta ko ganesh ka sharakshar (vakratunday hum) mantra pradan kar diya?
mamta ne atyant bhaktipurvak mata ke charnon men pranam kiya aur fir van men tap karne chala gaya. vahan uski shambarasur se bhanet hui. parvati-putra mam ne usse pucha- ‘ap kaun hain tatha yahan kaise padhare hain?’ shambar ne uÿar diya- ‘mahabhag! main tumhen vidya-dan karne aya hun. us vidya se tum nisandeh samathryashali ho jaoge.’ itna kahakar shambar ne mamta ko nana prakar ki asuri vidyaen sikha din. un vidyaon ke abhyas se mamta kamrup ho gaya.
vividh prakar ki shaktiyon ko prapt kar vah bara prasann hua. tab usne shambar ke charnon men pranam kar hath jore atyant vinit svar men kaha- ‘mahabhag! apne mujh par adbhut kripa ki hai. ab main apka shishya hun. agya pradan kijie, main kya karun?. shambar ne mamta ko samjhaya- ‘ab tum mahan shakti ki prapti ke lie vighnaraj ki upasna karo. unke prasann hokar prakat hone par unse sampurn brahmand ka rajya aur amrta ke var ke atirikt anya kuch mat mangna. var prapt kar tum mere pas chale ana.’
itna kahakar shambar prasatratapurvak apne ghar chala gaya aur mam vahin bethakar kathor tap karne laga. vah keval vayu par nirbhar rahakar gajmukh ka dhyan evan unke mantra ka jap kar raha tha. is prakar use tap karte hue divya sahasra varsh bit gae. prasann hokar gannath prakat hue. unhonne mamta se kaha- ‘main tumhare kathor tap se atyant prasann hun.
tum ichchanusar var mang lo.’ param prabhu gajanan ki vani sunakar mamta ke netra khule aur jab usne vighneshvar gajavaktra ka darshan kiya to anand-vibhor ho gaya. usne vighnaraj ke charnon men pranam kar atyant bhaktipurvak unki puja ki aur fir gadad kanth se stuti karne laga. ant men var-yachna karte hue usne kaha- ‘vardata prabho! yadi ap mujh par prasann hain to kripya purvak mujhe brahmand ka rajya pradan karen, yuddh men mere sammukh kabhi vighn upasthit n hon.
main shankar adi se bhi sada ajey rahun. vighnaraj bole- ‘daityendranayk! tumne dussadhya var ki yachna ki hai, kintu tumhare tap se santusht hokar main tumhari kamna puri karunga.’ var-prapt mamtasur ne prasannatapurvak shambar ke ghar jakrsara vriÿaant sunaya. usne usse apni rupvti putri mohini ka vivah kar diya. ek din mamasur ne shukracharya se brahmand vijay ki ichcha vyakt ki.
daityaguru ne kaha- ‘rajan! tum digvajay to karo, kintu vighneshvar ka virodh kabhi mat karna. smaran rakhna, vighnaraj ke anugrah se hi tumhen yah shakti evan vaibhav ki prapti hui hai. usne apne vir putron evan param parakrami sainikon ke dvara prithvi aur patal par adhikar kar liya. fir usne svarg par akraman kiya. vajrayudh ke sath bhayanak sangram hua. rakt ki sarita pravahit ho chali, kintu var-prapt asur ke samne devagan tik n sake. svarg mamasur ke adhin ho gaya. mamasur ne samar kshetra men vishnu aur shiv par vijay prapt kar li. sanpurn brahmand par us mahasur ka nirankush shasan vyapt ho gaya.
devagan bandi-grih men pare. sarvatra aniti aur anachar ka samrajya cha gaya. mamasur ke karagar men pirit devta ek hokar apni mukti ka upay sochne lage. lakshmipti vishnu ne kaha- ‘ham sabhi milakar vighneshvar ki aradhna karen. samast devtaon ne mantra-snanakar vighneshvar ki mansik puja ki. fir ve ekakshari-vidhan se bhaktipurvak unka smaran karne lage. ek varsh vyatit hone par bhadra-shukla chaturthi ke madhyahn men shesh-vahan vighnaraj prakat hue. santusht gannath devtaon ko abhisht var pradan kar adrishya ho gae.
usi samay fir devarshi ne vahan pahunch asur se kaha- ‘‘mujhe vighnaraj ne bheja hai. v e savatar ma, savars mathar, dhamar- palak evan adharm ke shatru hain. unhin ke var se tum shaktiman hue ho. ab tumhare apakarmon se devagan bandi grih men yatna pa rahe hain. ataev vighneshvar ne agya di hai ki tum is adharm aur anachar ko samapt kar turant meri sharan a jao, anyatha tumhara sarvanash nishchit hai.’’
lekin madomÿa mamasur par koi prabhav nahin para. vah yuddh ke lie prastut ho gaya. maharshi narad se yah sanvad pakar param prabhu ganesh ne kaha- ‘main mamasur ka darp dalan karunga.’ mamasur apne donon putron evan ajey vahini ke sath prithvi ko kampit karta hua yuddh ke lie nagar ke bahar nikla. maÿa evan nirankush danav mam ki dushtata dekhakar vighnaraj kupit hue. unhonne apna kamal asur sainya ke bich chor diya. ukt pajh-gandh se samast asur sarvatha ashakt evan muchrchit ho gae. mamasur adhe pahar tak muchrchit raha.
sachet hone par usne apne samip kamal dekha to kanpne laga. vah vighnaraj ke charnon par gir para. dhumravarn ek bar lok-pitamah ne sahasranshu ko karmarajya ke adhipti ke par savidhi abhishikt kiya. rajya-pad praptakar suryadev ke man men ahankar uday ho gaya. ve sochne lage- ‘karm ke prabhav se pitamah srishti-rachna karte hain, karm se hi vishn au jagat ka palan karte hain, karm ke dvara shiv sanhar karte hain aur karmon ke hi falasvarup shakti jagat ki palika aur poshika hain.
nisandeh sanpurn jagat karmadhin hi hai aur main un karmaen ka sanchalak devta hun. sabhi mere adhin hain.’ yah sochte hi unhen chink a gayi aur usse ek mahablvan mahakay, vishalaksh sundar purush utpann hua. vah sarvang-sundar purush vidvan shukracharya ke samip pahuncha. shukracharya ne uska parichay pucha. ukt purush ne vinit svar men uÿar diya- ‘prabho! main surya dev ki chink se utpann unka putra hun! main dharti par sarvatha anath hun. main apke adhin rahna chahta hun. aur apki pratyek agya ka palan karunga.
us manoram purush ke vachan sun shukracharya kuch der ke lie dhyanavasthit hue. fir unhonne kaha- ‘tumhara janm surya ke ahan-bhav se hua hai, is karan tumhara nam ‘ahm’ hoga. tum tapashcharan ke dva ara bhakti arjit karo. ‘ahm’ van men jakar upvas karta hua ganesh ke dhyan ke sath gurupradÿa mantra ka jap karte. drirh nishchay ke sath tap karta raha. is prakar kathor tap karte hue use divya sahasra varsh vyatit ho gae.
uske samaksh bhaktavatsal mushk-vahan, trinetra, gajavaktra, ekadant, shupakarn, pashadise subhobhit chaturbhuj mahodar prakat hue. aur kaha- ‘main tumhare tap aur stavan se prasann hun. tum ichchit var mang lo.’ aham ne hath jorakar nivedan kiya- prabho! ap mujhe apni bhakti dijie. meri sabhi kamnaen purn ho jaen. ap mujhe arogya, vijay, amoghastra aur sanpunr a brahmand ka rajya pradan karen. maya-vikar se meri mrityu n ho.’ ‘tathastu!’ kahakar gannath antardhan ho gae.
us samay harshontfulla asuron ne vadyadi ke sath adbhut mahotsav manaya. vishy-priya namak sundar nagar nirmit hua. aham vahan asuron ke sath nivas karne laga. kuch samay bad ek din aham ke shvashur pramadasur ki prerna se guru shukracharya ka ashirvad lekar brahmand vijay ko nikal para. prithvi par adhikar kar usne patal par akraman kiya. param pratapi ahantasur se bhaybhit shesh ne use kar dena svikar kar liya. fir us asur ne svarg par akraman kiya.
svayan vishnu ranbhumi men upasthit hue, kintu var-prapt asur ke amoghastra se unhen bhi parajit hona para. sarvatra ahankarasur ka adhipatya ho gaya. duratma asuron ne devtaon ko atishay pirit karne ke lie parvaton aur aranyon ko nasht karna prarambh kar diya.
aham ne devalyon se ganeshadi ki pratimaen fenkva din aair unke sthan par apni murti sthapit karayi. unke pujak bhi aham ke anyatam shraddhalu asur niyukt hue. is prakar sabhi gharon men asuri karmone ki pravriÿia evan ahantasur ki upasna hone lagi.
