‘yog’ vichar bhartiya jyotish ki apni visheshta hai. do ya adhik grahon ke apsi sanbandh se jyotishiya yog ka nirman hota hai. yah sanbandh unki ek bhav men yuti, bhav vinimay, paraspar drishti adi dvara janmakundli men banta hai. shubh grahon dvara nirmit yog shubh faldayi aur ashubh grahon ka yog jatak ke lie kashtakari hota hai. shani v mangal donon hi papi grah hain aur ek dusre ke vairi hain. atah kundli men inka yog ashubh faldayi hota hai. mangal grah yuva, chust, balishth, chote kad vala, rakta-gaur varn, pitt prakriti, shurvir, ugra, rakt netra vala, aur gaurvshali grah hai. iske viprit shani durbal, lanba sharir, rukhe bal, mote dant aur nakhun vala, dusht, krodhi, alsi aur vayu prakriti vala grah hai. kundli men balvan shani sukhkari tatha nirbal ya pirit shani kashtakarak aur dukhdayi hota hai. in viprit svabhav vale grahon ka yog svabhavtah bhav sthiti sanbandhi uthl-puthal paida karta hai. sabhi jyotish granthon ne is yog ka fal bura hi bataya hai. kuch acharyon ne ise ‘dvandva yog’ ki sangya di hai. ‘dvandva’ ka arth hai larai. yah yog lagn, chaturth, saptam, ashtam ya dvadash bhav men hone par mangal dosh ko adhik amanglkari banata hai jiske falasvarup jatak ke jivan men vivah sanbandhi kathinaiyan ati hain. vivah ke rishte tutte hain, vivah der se hota hai, vivahottar jivan ashant rahta hai, tatha vivah vichched tak ki sthiti paida ho jati hai. ‘faldipika’ granth (a. 18.3) ke anusar: duahkharto'satya sandhah sasvitri tanye bhuimje nindishch. arthat ‘‘mangl-shani sath hon to vyakti duahkhi, jhuth bolne vala, apne vachan se fir jane vala aur nindit hota hai.’’ ‘saravli’ granth (a. 15.6) ke anusar: dhatvindrajal kushal pravanchak stey karm kushalashch. kujsauryorvidharmah shastravishaghnah kaliruchiah syat.. arthat, ‘‘kundli men mangal aur shani ek sath hone par jatak dhatuvisheshagya, dhokhebaj, laraku, chor, shastraghati tatha vish sanbandhi gyan rakhta hai. ‘jatak bharanam’ (dvigrah yogadhyay, shlok-15) ke anusar: shastrastra vitsangar karmakarta steyanritapritikrah prakamam. sauravyen hino nitran narah syaddh rasute mandayute'tinindyah.. arthat, ‘‘jiske janm samay mangal aur shani ka yog ho, vah astra-shastra chalane vala, chori men tatpar, mithya bolne vala aur sukh hin hota hai. ‘mansagri’ granth (dvigrahyog shani-mangal dvandva yog fal) anusar: vagmindrajaladakshashch vidharmi kalahapriyah. vishamadya prapanchadhyo mandmangal sangme.. arthat, ‘‘mangl-shani ke yog se vyakti vakta tatha indrajal vidya men nipun, dharmahin, jhagralu, vish tatha madira ke prapanch se yukt hota hai. ‘horasar’ granth (a. 23.19) ke anusar: kujamandayastu yoge nityarto vatpitt rogabhyam. upachay bhavne naiv nriptulyo lok sanptah syatah.. arthat, ‘‘mangal aur shani ki ek bhav men yuti vat (gathiya) aur pitt rog deti hai. parantu upachay (3, 6, 10,11) bhav men yah yuti jatak ko sarvamanya banati hai aur raj samman deti hai. gyatavya hai ki papi grah upachay bhav men shubh fal dete hain. ‘sanketnidhi’ granth (sanket iv.66) ke anusar. dyune yame'sriji tadikshanatashch vatarta. chanchla sarudhira kati chinh yukta.. arthat ‘‘yadi shani-mangal satven bhav men hon ya vahan drishtipat karen tab patni asthir buddhi aur vat rog se grast hoti hai. usko rudhir ki adhikta hoti hai aur uske kati pradesh men chihn hota hai.
